The Mistlands is the biome that confuses people most. It is dark, permanently fogged, vertical, and it introduces a whole new system in Eitr and magic. Here is the plain version.
Mistlands- Difficulty
- Very hard, and disorienting even when you are strong enough.
- Get here with
- Full padded or black metal gear, and a wisp light
- What you came for
Black core
Carapace
Soft tissue
Yggdrasil wood
Sap
- Boss
- The Queen
- Unlocks
- Eitr, magic, and carapace gear
First: you need to see
The mist is not decoration, it genuinely blinds you. You need a wisplight, made from a wisp caught in a wisp torch and the demister. Without it you will fall off cliffs you never saw.
Eitr, in plain terms
Eitr is magic stamina. Certain foods give you an Eitr pool, and staves spend it. If you want to cast anything you need Eitr food, which means refined Eitr, which means finding the ingredients here first.
What to gather
Black core from dvergr structures, for the black forge and Eitr refinery.
Carapace from seekers, for the best armour of the tier.
Soft tissue from the glowing infested rock formations.
Yggdrasil wood from the giant roots and trees.
Sap from the root growths, for Eitr.

What kills you
- Seekers, fast flying insects that hit hard.
- Gjall, the big floating ones that bomb you from above.
- Ticks, which latch on and drain you.
- Falling. Genuinely. The terrain is vertical and the mist hides drops.
Mistlands kit
- A wisplight, before anything else
- Padded or black metal armour
- Your best health food, all three slots
- A bow for gjall
- Fire resistance is not required but helps
Work outward from a portal you place at the edge rather than trying to cross it in one go. And check the progression guide if you are not sure you are geared for this yet.
