Valheim Ashlands Guide: Reaching It and Surviving It

The Ashlands sit at the far south of the map and they are hostile from the moment you approach. Even the sea on the way in is dangerous. This is the current endgame.

Getting there is the first fight

Sail south until the water turns red and the sky goes with it. The approach is defended, so expect to be shot at from shore before you land. Many people lose their first ship here.

  • Take a longship, not a karve.
  • Expect the landing to be contested. Pick a beach, do not drift.
  • Set a portal the moment you have a safe foothold.
Fader. The fight waiting at the end of the current road.

Fire is the theme

Fire resistance mead is close to mandatory, and much of the terrain does damage on its own. Treat the whole biome the way you treated the swamp: it is an environment fight before it is a combat fight.

What you are here for

  • FlametalFlametal, the top metal, mined from the glowing veins.
  • AshwoodAshwood for the building set.
  • Charred enemy drops for the top gear tier.

Once you are established, Fader is the boss waiting at the end.
